BEWARE OF THIS INSURANCE WARRANTY SCAM - You get this phone call, "Your auto warranty is about to expire. It's urgent that you contact this phone number for an extended warranty. This is the final notice you will get." A woman who recently purchased a Nissan with a 5 year, 75,000-mile warranty received calls at home and on her cell phone for six weeks, sometimes three a day, warning her that her warranty was coming to an end. A U.S. senator says these unsolicited, computerized phone calls are a form of harassment and is calling for a federal investigation into the practice. The Better Business Bureau said it received more than 140,000 complaints about the warranty calls. They also send postcards and letters to anyone, regardless of whether they have warranties or even own the vehicles. |

Most Ticketed Cars ? Quality Planning ranked the vehicles most
likely to be ticketed, based on the number of moving violations
issued for each 100,000 miles driven. The resulting top ten of the
list contains a few predictable entries, but it’s not entirely
comprised of flashy red sports cars. |

Speed Demon 440
writes - The Future of All
Electric Vehicles Stinks- The Chevrolet Volt will have a price tag
of around $40,000 when it finally hits the market. Ford will follow
with it's electric Focus in 2011. The high cost of electric auto development in this current economy will only satisfy emission
averages for the manufacturers. Better battery technology is needed.
I'll cherish and pamper my 8 banger which will eventually be a king
on the road or taxed to death for carbon emissions. |

Detroit Mickey writes - It's too bad the environmentalists and global warming freaks are getting so much media attention and control all the way to the Whitey House. I got laid off from Chrysler even though the cars were better than the Japanese and imports. Chrysler will be late getting its 2010 vehicles to market because of the Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. The current shutdown of automaker's plants and stresses on suppliers will delay the 2011 models next year. I'm close to having enough down payment to get a Challenger before all hell breaks loose. It will be a collectors item in the next decade. |

Vette Tommy Gun writes - GM is
planning a Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport for 2010. Will the
bankruptcy in their future change plans for the power screaming
vettes? I pray that our prized American Automaker will rise again. |

Toyota shakes consumer confidence in its quality and safety.
Some independent safety experts are skeptical of Toyota's
blaming sudden acceleration on a gas pedal defect. Sudden-acceleration events in Toyota and Lexus vehicles have
been blamed for at least 19 fatalities and 815 vehicle crashes since
1999. "The way the sudden-acceleration problems are occurring in
reported incidents doesn't comport with how this sticky pedal is described,"
said Sean Kane, president of Safety Research & Strategies.
Ever since his 1996 Toyota Camry shot up an interstate ramp, plowing into
the back of an Oldsmobile in a horrific crash that killed three people, Koua
Fong Lee insisted he had done everything he could to stop the car. A
jury didn't believe him, and a judge sentenced him to eight years in
prison.
